About Me

I am an unchatty Cathy, a blogger using the last name of my beloved grandmother, a woman of faith who showed me the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight (1 Peter 3:3-4).

I am Innie Me, an introvert with a mind full of unspoken thoughts. My uncle Fred wrote a limerick about me in a longer poem about my family. What was I thinking as I sat there quietly? Was I suppressing an urge to shout? Did I have unsaid words that longed to come out?

Chatty Cathy, no that was not her style,
Sitting there calmly behind her smile.
Was she suppressing an urge to shout?
With unsaid words wanting to come out?

A flower that would blossom, if we waited awhile.

The answer is yes. Before I started blogging at age 48,  I often suppressed the urge to express myself. It wasn’t because I didn’t want to speak. It wasn’t because I had nothing to say. It was because it takes longer for my introverted mind to formulate my thoughts into the spoken word than it does for an extrovert. When I learned about introversion, I realized that it was completely natural and normal for me to hold back my words. I realized it was completely natural and normal for me to be content spending a lot of time in my own head.

I am Innie Me, a spiritual person who likes to engage in introspection. For in my inner being, I delight in God’s law. Writing helped me find a purpose – sharing my spiritual journey and insights with others.
